Free Community Events in May at Motive Yoga Co!

Post by Skyler » Sun Apr 28, 2024 10:30 am

May 1st - Kirtan with visiting yogi, Joe Muller at 6:45pm

We welcome you to this sacred opportunity to join our voices and hearts together in community. Kirtan is a devotional and meditative practice that helps focus the mind, cultivate inner peace, and deepen self exploration. We will sing primarily sanskrit mantras with a mixture of english prayers often in call-and-response format. It is less about sounding pitch-perfect, and more about union and intention. All are welcome- those that wish to learn, listen, participate, or simply experience the energy. The evening will include an honoring of the origins of this tradition, information about sanskrit pronunciation, guidance in regards to the practice of chanting, and support in opening your voice from deep within. Joe is honored to share this practice in service to the Motive community. His studies of classical ashtanga yoga, the yoga of sound, and sanskrit are ongoing; guided by eldership from the Salt Spring Centre of Yoga in British Columbia. Joe is a lifelong athlete, youth sports coach, certified yoga instructor, and ICF certified mental health coach.

No need to sign up for Kirtan, just drop in!
