Battery maintainer

Post by TVS » Fri Apr 12, 2024 4:38 am

I have a snowmobile and a tractor that don’t get a lot of use for large chunks of time- summer and winter both. What would be the recommendation for a type of battery maintainer for these? I am new to maintainers and having a bit of a hard time finding good info on the internet. Also should these be used during the summer too and not just during cold months? What is your experience with solar chargers? Thank you.

I use maintainers on everything 365 days a year. My backhoe battery is 10 years old sits the winter and than is only used 4 or 5 times a year.My 4 wheeler battery was 7 years and going strong before I sold it. Yes maintainer is a good investment. Battery Tender or Battery Minder are your best bet based on my experience.

I have both Battery Tender brand and Noco. I have been much happier with Battery Tender for reasons I needn't get into here - just finicky little differences.

Consider a 3 amp or 5 amp especially on the tractor, and especially in the cold.
