Singer Repair?
My bobbin isn't bobbing. Can't get the needle to pick up the thread. Suggestions?

Re: Singer Repair?
I found this place in Wenatchee when I was having some trouble with my sewing machine. They did a good tune up on it (which had never been done) and fixed it up.

Re: Singer Repair?
There's also Nelson Settles in East Wenatchee. He's fixed my Pfaff a couple of times and done a great job. He also doesn't charge an arm and a leg.
His card says:
"Serger and Sewing Machine Repairs
All makes and models--reasonable rates
Pickup and delivery offered.
312 Perry Ave. N
East Wenatchee, WA 98802
509-881-8114 text and voice"
He has a day job and does the sewing machine repair as a hobby/second job.

Thanks for all the good advice. Yes, the bobbin in turned the right way. I'll change the needle. YouTube not helpful tho there were some good videos. Guess I'm going to Wenatchee.

Just another suggestion... the needle has a groove on one side that allows the thread to travel down to the bobbin, catch, and form the stitch under the fabric. My father worked for Singer for many years and this is one of the problems he encountered frequently. If when changing the needle the groove is incorrectly oriented it will not form stitches.
Hope this helps.

Hi Sam, I know a thing or two about tuning up/timing/repairing sewing machines. I just serviced one for a friend last week, and have worked on a large variety of machines throughout the years. Give me a shout, and I'd be happy to help. Tom 812-320-9910
