Now that it is beautiful so many people are ruining it by burning trash ...leaves, branches and who knows what else from what I smell in the air at night. There are alternatives to burning. Please don't burn anymore as it is ruining our air here in this pristine valley.

I have to go on oxygen when the burning starts. I'm tethered to a machine with a 25 ft hose while they freely burn. I wonder if they know how much they affect other people.

Ironically, it's a chronic outdoor burner in Twisp for me who lives about a mile away. They live on about an acre and probably think they don't bother the neighbors, so why not. But smoke knows no boundaries.

There are better alternatives to burning, ones that don't negatively impact your neighbor's health or the air quality. Look up events on clean air methow for free chipping events and curbside yard waste pickup events. Also you can always drop off here

or even better, you could use your yard debris to replenish the soil and build raised garden beds with no need for fertilizer and lesser need for irrigation!
