abandoned rooster seen on Poorman Creek Cutoff Rd

Post by bobeobi » Sun Mar 10, 2024 12:00 am

My husband was walking on Poorman Creek Cutoff Road this afternoon between 2-4pm and saw an apparently abandoned rooster a little ways east of Reynaud Loop. The rooster was skittish and wouldn't come to him, took off up the road heading uphill/east towards the intersection with the main Poorman Creek Road. My husband couldn't identify the breed but said it was multi-color. What an inhumane way to get rid of an unwanted rooster. Unfortunately we are unable to take him in at this time. If someone wants him, he might still be in the area tomorrow, if he survives the night. He might come to you if you offer treats, or bring a hen to entice him.

uuhhhh, our Darrell frequently gets his exercise on that stretch of poorman creek. Please stop frightening him and chasing him and tempting with unhealthy snacks and random flusie hens. Good day madam.

Sounds like this rooster may have a home? If so, great! In our experience, we've never seen or heard of a rooster wandering off by himself away from his flock/home, so we were worried.
