• Pete Palmer, Planning Director describes a thorny problem of a parcel that was divided in half when the owner died, leaving one half to each of her two children, but the parcel was never went through the county’s subdivision process. Now one of the children wants to sell her property but can’t. The commissioners are stumped by this problem and refer Palmer to the county attorney.
• Roni Holder-Diefenbach, Executive Director of the Economic Alliance, and the commissioners discuss various infrastructure projects for RHD’s upcoming meeting with a federal interagency funding group, wanting to know funding priorities for affordable housing in the county.
• Commissioners meet in executive session with Esther Milner, Chief Civil Deputy Prosecutor and Shelley Keitzman, Human Resources and Risk Management, for 15 minutes under RCW 42.30.110(1)(i)—on-going litigation.

• Public Comment:
o Ms. Jackson reports that she listened to the Planning Commission Meeting last night. She was concerned that for such an important process, Pete Palmer, Director or Planning, was hurrying them along telling them to move quickly. Ms. Jackson suggests that they take their time to educate themselves in this process. She also asked the Board to clarify the process for changing zoning and wondered about the role of Pete. Commissioners Branch and Hover answered her questions.
o The board received questions from a constituent in the Oroville/Tonasket area who is wanting to build a USDA approved meat processing facility and needs to know how to deal with waste.
• Finance Committee: Looking for funding to fulfill the Becca Bill requirement of the Courts, and for the Water Conservancy Board. Getting ready for the equipment surplus auction.
• Solid Waste: Reports on new methane gas laws beginning June 1, and the upcoming apple maggot quarantine for the north county.
• Public Works: Working with the Liberty Woodlands Home Owners’ Association on their sewer system.
• Meeting adjourned for the day at 12:11.
