I just learned this from a rancher: "If the flapper arm stays constantly in the spray of the water the spring is too tight. If the flapper stays out the spring is broken. Rainbird sprinkler repair

I have a box with a stash of metal impact sprinklers that refuse to turn. Maybe the springs have weakened? Can anyone help me repair them?

Many of the burnt trees have broken upper trunks. I thought that trees would first rot at or below ground level, and then fall. Any theories?
