Starlink installation?

Hi!

I am about to throw in the towel on my < 1mbps CenturyLink in Edelweiss in favor of Starlink.

Installation will require climbing about on a peak, which isn't great for me. Any ideas on someone to help?

I've seen people use a mounting pole somewhere within view of the north sky. Sits somewhere on the ground on your property.

Would that work?

Yes, it could. I'd prefer to get it out of the line of sight, if possible

Downl9ad the Starlink app and use the "Obstructions" feature to determine if Starlink will work in youe location, the antenna as said earlier needs access to the Northern sky and for uninterupted service needs unobstructed view in a 25 degree angle from the ground.

I did that in a couple of locations

I am fairly good with DIY. The issue is the climbing on the roof portion of the job

Make sure you use the app to see if your roof even has enough open space around it. I thought mine did for sure, but I ended up still having big red areas on the app where the reception would be blocked. I had to find a guy in town to climb my tallest tree in the middle of winter and cut the top off to attach the device up there. It looks ridiculous but I could have an internet cafe at my house with this kind of internet, so whatever. If this ends up being your route, there are plenty of "tree guys" in the valley or I can get you in contact with the one who did mine.
