Pest Mystery

A critter has started a campaign of chewing up the weather seal at the bottom of all of our exterior doors, and is even gnawing away the wood frame/sill, opening a daylight gap at the bottom corner of each door. It's ignoring mouse traps baited with peanut butter. Any idea what it might be and how to trap it?

Thanks.

I bet a paw print would go a long way, maybe flour or sand around the area and take some photos of what those paws look like and possible route.

A squirrel did something similar to a shed door, although there was no weatherstripping to chew, just wood.

My cat constantly destroyed the weather stripping for as high up as he could reach on 2 doors. This went on for years of scratching and replacing.

I had this issue as well. There were droppings around the bottom of my porch that were too big for a mouse or lizard (which have different droppings anyway) and I haven't seen porcupines at my place so I deduced it to be squirrels/chipmunks. I put out a natural pest deterrent that are these balls soaked in natural oils like cedar, lavender, etc. and they seemed to have moved on.
