CenturyLink telephone pole leaning dangerously over the Twisp-Carlton Rd
Pole # A1696896
just south of 781 Twisp-Carlton Rd

I can't reach CenturyLink repair services. They are blaming that on "global difficulties". In any case, in past experiences, it was pointless to call CenturyLink about any system problems. They will only deal with outages at your house. All they want to do is schedule a home visit in a few weeks time.

I can't remember the name of the local CenturyLink repair person and don't know how to reach him. I'm hoping he'll read this and do something about the leaning pole before we all lose our landline service. I'm remembering the Carlton Complex fires, when cell phones when out and all we had was landlines.

Randy,
what we all call 'telephone poles' are actually powerline poles.
This is most likely the case with the pole that you described.
It falls into the hands of PUD to maintain them.
Give them a call - 509- 422 3310
Peter,

No, Peter, it is definitely a telephone pole. They are very different from power poles. Much shorter and with a single, multi-wire or fiber optic cable.

I found out that this pole has been reported to CenturyLink and they supposedly have it on their list to repair or replace since a year or so ago. But they are in no hurry. Apparently it was replaced 5 years ago, but done so badly that it is leaning severely, as I said. Nonetheless, they may not even try to replace it until it falls down and we are all without service along the Twisp-Carlton again.

Jim, I ran into Craig Stahl. He is well aware of the problem but it's in corporate hands to fix. He doesn't do pole repairs.

Two days ago I drove up Twisp-Carlton Rd. There were a half dozen trucks along the area where the pole was leaning. One was either straightening it or putting in a new pole.

Hooray! And thanks Craig of local CenturyLink for staying on top of this.
