Seeking Local Whole Food Resources

Hey all,

My wife and I are two students who are new to the valley, and we are very happy to be a part of the community for a season. I hope to contribute what I can while here.

We try our best to buy whole foods sourced as locally as possible, and find this to be a great way to connect to and support people we live around. Unfortunately, we are going to be out of town every weekend, so the farmers markets won't be an option for us.

If anyone is producing, or has any leads for local folks who may be selling the following types of products, any leads would be really appreciated:

Eggs
Vegetables
Fruits
Milk
Meat
Grains
Legumes

Thank you very much for your time and consideration. We have so far found folks around here to be very kind and welcoming and I hope to get to know more of you.

Hey Kaleb-

Welcome to the valley.

We are super lucky here to have a lot of local offerings distributed through the local grocery stores. Mazama Store in particular is a great resource. They have super fresh and local veg that is actually really well priced. They also have bulk grains from Bluebird Grain and local eggs and local milk. Pretty much a one stop shop. And - if you chose to work there (which is a great way to meet people locally) you get a good discount.

A great CSA is offered by Hoodoo Blooms. You can do a weekly drop in rate. They do a great job and pickups are during the weekday.

Also the Methow Foodshed is another great option. Super locally sourced food that is available in a 24 hour self serve farm stand located conveniently right next to the Winthrop Vet. Check it out! And there are lots more cool offerings that I am sure you will discover during your time here.

We are blessed to be surrounded by lots of awesome farmers.
