School Levies on the Ballot?

On the ballot, as well as in the ballot pamphlet, the levy amounts are listed for collection in the future. As these are both replacement levies, I'm curious as to what the current amounts are. Anybody have that info handy? Thanks.

Reading the County info pamphlet; it looks to me like the proposed levies are for the exact same on-going investments (one for special education, after school programs, etc and the other for technical upgrades - computers, etc). And, for the exact same amounts.

So, no change in your taxes….we’ve been asked for these amounts and levies before and have been paying for them all along.

This is also - I believe - consistent with what was reported in the article on the topic in last week’s MVNews. https://methowvalleynews.com/2024/01/25/valley-voters-asked-to-approve-replacement-levies-for-schools/

Yes, that is a key bit of information that has not been reported. What are the current levy rates?

<t>You can find this info in the county website, with some sleuthing. I went down that rabbit hole, so here you go, in summary:

- the average and summed rate over last 4 years (2020-2023) for the three existing levies (listed separately on the county info as “enrichment, bond, tech and cap”) is $1.93/$1000 valuation. Yearly breakdown is:

2023: $1.33/$1000 (.905 Enrich, .064 Bond, .365 Tech/Cap)
2022: $1.78/$1000 (1.173 E, .092 B, .522 T/C)
2021: $2.23/$1000. (1.14 E, .094 B, 1.00 T/C)
2020: $2.36/$1000. (1.29 E, .109 B, .965 T/C)

Avg: $1.93
