Re: Don't Look Down?
Surprised or scared. Years ago I took pics of the old bridge that crossed the Methow when leaving Twisp. I went underneath. It was not pretty. I sent actual paper photos to Doc Hastings at the time. I don't think it helped but maybe it did. About 3 years later work on a new bridge began. That's what...

Re: Moose sighting
I'm not truly concerned. Every winter it is like this. Winter's can be harsh here as we know, especially this one with the deep snow. Should people not use snow machines to get into the woods or the backcountry then? Should WDFW and FS use snow machines to track them(wolves and wolverines) to see ho...

Re: Moose sighting
Then why are they roaming around my hood? Flocks of people, sure it's not a herd? The animals will wander where they may. I really don't think flocks of people are flocking to see them. As I say if they are wandering through the neighborhood, they are not being harrassed. Coyotes wander through town...

Emergency up Twisp River?
Does anyone know why fire engines would be about 3.5 miles up Twisp River Rd. around 5:30 tonight? (12th). Also saw an engine backed into Elbow Coulee.
I did hear that there was an avalanche in Elbow Coulee. Did not know if fire trucks were related to that.
Any info appreciated. Thanks.

We used Bobby Lloyd. Brought a grader up. Fast work. Also Jake Pennock might do that. McHugh's excavating might as well dependibg on the terrain.

Re: Any snow load estimates?
Always weigh what's on the roof. We have snow breaks too. It's no problem for us up Twisp River as my husband calculated for a heavier snow load than what the county stipulates here. However, we have a cantilvered roof over our garage doors(shop upstairs) and he did shovel it but not completely off....

Re: report an outage to PUD
We're on OCEC past Elbow Coulee. They say to report outage. Had a good msg. about the outage and then talked to a nice guy.
Does anyone know if power is back on past Elbow Coulee up Twisp River? We're off the grid right now, so can't tell as of 6:30 Sunday.

Re: A New Year's Methowian Trivia and Safety Question, Fer Y'all
Wow! I learn someting new everyday. I did not know it was Crossword Puzzle hill. Maybe it's obvious, but why is it called that? Yeah, I always thought the "t" was a small t for Twisp. Those must be PUD lines? Give them a call. Probably not in tomorrow. "home yonder there" - great! But just do what t...
